Arab ministerial meeting to focus on Israeli-Palestinian talks

A ministerial meeting of the members of the commission on settlement to the conflict with Israel will be held on Saturday in Cairo with focus on resumption of the indirect Palestinian-Israeli talks, RIA Novosti reported.

The commission consists of 13 members: Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Bahrain, Yemen, Sudan, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and Qatar.

It’s expected that chief of the Palestine Liberation Organization Negotiations Affairs Department Saeb Erekat will speak to the meeting. In particular, it’s expected that he will discuss the latest proposals by Israel, delivered to Palestine by US Special Envoy for the Middle East. The Egyptian television reported that Israel is ready to make concessions, related in particular to the situation on the Wert Bank of Jordan as well as is ready to release detained Palestinians, and surrender some territories to the Palestinian authorities.
