Kaczynski's mum still unaware of his death

Late Polish President Lech Kaczynski’s mother, 84, who has been hospitalized for more than two months, is still unaware that he had died in an airplane crash on April 10.

"Mama still does not know that Lech is dead," late president’s twin-brother Jaroslaw Kaczynski, a candidate to succeed his brother in a June 20 presidential election, told the mass circulation Superexpress newspaper in an interview.

"For a long time she has been in poor mental health and she mistakes me for Lech, which is something that never happened before," Jaroslaw Kaczynski said. He added that is intending to tell her the truth in the near future.

The Polish delegation, involving Lech Kaczynski, his wife and numerous top officials, died in a plane crash on their way to Russia, where they were going to participate in the commemoration events timed to the 70th anniversary of the massacre against nearly 20,000 Polish officers, committed in the village of Katyn during WW2.
