Varujan Hakobian seeds the 7th at US Chess Championship 2010

Rounds eight and nine have been held within the U.S. Chess Championship 2010.

Armenia’s Grand Master Varujan Hakobian played in draw against Yan Elwest and then won over Robson. Robson, in his turn, overcame Melikset Khachinian, whose set with Samuel Shankland ended in draw.

Levon Altunian was defeated by Benjamin, but later won over Gurevich.

Varujan Hakobian at 5 points seeded the 7th, while Levon Altunian at 3,5 points is the 21st-seeded and Melikset Khachinian at 3,5 points is the 18th.

Some 24 chess players are participating in the U.S. Chess Championship 2010, taking place in Saint Louis.
