Armenian, Georgian FMs talk about Armenian Community’s issues

On his official visit to Georgia, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met Monday with his Georgian counterpart Grigol Vashadze, a spokesperson to Armenian Foreign Ministry said.

Parties discussed in details a range of issues over which Armenian Community of Georgia had expressed concerns. Georgian Foreign Minister delivered to Nalbandian governmental projects aimed at resolving of the existing problems. In particular, the projects contain activities on new jobs establishment, road construction, improvement of the educational and cultural structures and centers.

Grigol Vashadze praised actively developing relations between the two countries in various spheres, and stressed that Georgian authorities approve a political will for further development and strengthening of relations with Armenia. Edward Nalbandian thanked for warm welcoming and said is pleased with invitation to pay a visit to Tbilisi and readiness of authorities of the two countries to develop friendly relations.

Parties pointed that the regular meetings between them create good opportunities for implementation of the running agreements and designing of new programmes of cooperation.

Among highlights were regional and international issues, items of trade and economical cooperation, and issues in sphere of transport and energy. Officials talked about implementation of presidential orders related to the issue of demarcation of the Armenia-Georgia border and paid an attention to issue of easing the regime of crossing the border for residents of the adjoining to borders territories.

Referring to the Armenian-Georgian cultural cooperation, Minister Nalbandian said is pleased with intensification of the cultural ties between the two countries. He pointed at the recent cultural event held in Armenia -- Georgian Days. Parties reached an agreement to continue cultural dialogue.
