Declaration of Independence has played significant role, says PM

“The Declaration of Independence of Armenia has establishes a basis for our future legislation,” said Armenia’s Prime Minister Tigran Sarkisian in his interview with Haylur aired by the Public Armenian Television.

“The Declaration played a significant role in solving the directions of development and strategy of the country. It’s clear, that 20 years ago a foundation of the independent statehood was laid,” said Prime Minister.

He also added that certain time is necessary to do justice to historical significance of both the Declaration and numerous political decisions by the Supreme Council of Armenia.

The Declaration of Independence of Armenia came in force on August 23 1990 and declared an Independent Armenia.
