Michelle Obama bans daughters from Facebook
US First Lady Michelle Obama firmly states that she will not permit her daughters, Sasha, 9, and Malia, 12, to sign up or connect with their friends on Facebook.
And it is unlikely this will change while Obama's current Presidency term is on, or even if it extends for another four years.
Remaining non-committal on the US Today show, she said: "It depends on when we leave and how old they are."
The Obamas' approach to parenting is often under scrutiny and a benchmark for the modern family.
Though the Internet is a valuable resource for study and leisure time for kids, these feelings are often echoed by many modern parents who have concerns about their children's online activity.
As for Facebook rules, members are restricted to ages 13+ and a good guideline for the use of the site by children.
