Vic Darchinyan seeks meeting with Armenian President

Armenian boxer, IBO flyweight world champion Vic Darchinyan said that by dominating Johnny Perez he made a personal contribution to the international recognition of Armenian Genocide.

During the fight on April 23 Vic wore a belt with an inscription “1915.”

“I became the first sportsman to present the topic of Armenian Genocide to the world in this way. It was a unique day to me and I think to every Armenian. After the fight, I gave interview to TV channels and told them details of the Armenian Genocide. This topic was widely covered throughout the world,” Vic told reporters in Yerevan.

The world champion noted he seeks meeting with the Armenian President to discuss with him the issue of establishing a boxing school in Armenia.
