Fine of 45.000 Euros for anyone who denies fact of Genocide
On December 22 the French Senate is to discuss bill which will criminalize the denial genocide (the Armenian Genocide in that number).
The bill envisages one year prison term and a fine of 45,000 euros for anyone who denies the fact of genocide, the local Media reports.
On December 7 in 2011 the legal commission of the French Senate passed a bill criminalizing denial of Armenian Genocide, authored by Valerie Boyer.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry had issued a release which said Turkey hoped such steps that damage Turkish-French relations would not continue, and France will make constructive contribution through dialogue to the settlement of the historical disagreement that exists between Armenia and Turkey.
