Nepali PM plans to pass nights in rural regions
Prime Minister of Nepal Baburam Bhattarai plans monthly overnight stays in the country's rural regions in order to keep himself well-informed about the people's concerns, the Himalayan Times reported.
"The Prime Minister will visit a different rural area every month to interact with local representatives of political parties, civil society, social workers and local organizations," his office said in a statement.
"The prime minister decided to visit at least one village in a month to have firsthand experience about people's problems at the grassroots and collect their feedback," the PM's aide Bishwodeep Pandey said.
During his stay, the PM will hold interaction with people from different occupations and listen to their grievances and complaints, and seek their feedback.
The PM wants to become "a people's PM" so he decided to hold interaction with the public, said Pandey.
