'Innocence of Muslims' banned in Kazakhstan

The Saryarqa District Court in Astana has ruled that an anti-Islam film that sparked violent demonstrations around the world is extremist and cannot be shown in Kazakhstan, Radio Liberty reports.

The ruling was made after the Astana City prosecutor requested a ban on the U.S.-made film, "Innocence of Muslims."

Kazakhstan’s Agency for Religious Issues hailed the court's ruling, saying the film "truly insults Muslims."
