ARFD to put up Aghvan Vardanian as presidential candidate?

During the Supreme Assembly held yesterday, the ARF-Dashnaktsutyun determined the format of the party’s participation in the upcoming presidential election. On December 25 the party kept the decision a secret all day. Nonetheless, rumors began to circulate in the evening that the party made a decision to put up the deputy representative of the ARFD Supreme Body, Secretary of the ARFD faction Aghvan Vardanian as their presidential candidate.

“Today it will become clear how serious these rumors are. The party representatives stated yesterday that the ARFD will announce its decision at a press conference today. It is noteworthy that so far there have been talks within the party about the candidacy of Armen Rustamian, the possibility of boycotting the election was not ruled out either,” “Haykakan Zhamanak” daily wrote.
