Regional governor takes vacation due to upcoming election

The governor of Kotayk province Kovalenko Shahgaldian, nicknamed “Koval”, took yet another vacation on January 21. He told “Zhoghovurd” daily: “My vacation will last until February 19. I took a vacation because of the election campaign so that the media would not speculate that the regional governor uses his working hours to organize an election campaign, receiving a state salary for that”.

Asked by the newspaper how he manages to promptly take a vacation in such “awkward” situations, K. Shahgaldian said: “I don’t take vacations very often, I am now on a vacation in the order prescribed by the law, and I have such a right”.
