Defense ministry urges Heritage member not to politicize reservists’ drills

“Each military exercise in the army is planned a year in advance. In recent years the Armenian armed forces have conducted several such exercises every year, also with the participation of reservists, in a varying degree. This is a scheduled and necessary measure and it never lasts three months. Such exercises are not large-scale and last a few days. I urge you once again not to spread misinformation and politicize this. The activities of Armenian Defense Ministry are aimed at ensuring the security of Armenia,” Defense Ministry spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisian wrote on his Facebook page regarding the statement that the deputy chairman of Heritage Party Armen Martirosian made at yesterday’s rally about scheduled exercises of the Defense Ministry.

Let us remind you that Armen Martirosian said at yesterday’s rally in Liberty Square that three-month exercises have been launched in order to call up reservists who are involved in their movement. In the words of Armen Martirosian, he himself is ready to take part in these exercises for over a month, but he called upon the Defense Ministry not to do such a thing.
