ARFD: This crime is a result of impunity

The Supreme Body of ARF-Dashnaktsutyun Party issued a statement, demanding a prompt and effective detection of the crime and expressing its outrage over the murder of ARFD member Hrach Muradian, who was the head of the village of Proshian in Kotayk province.

The statement particularly reads:

“This morning the head of Proshian community Hrach Muradian became a victim of terrorism outside his workplace. A premeditated, preplanned murder was committed. It is obvious that this crime is a result of the atmosphere of impunity and intolerance.

Hrach Muradian was a stalwart member of ARFD, he followed a glorious military path from the very beginning of the Artsakh liberation war to its end. He was awarded a Combat Cross of Artsakh and numerous medals for the defense of the fatherland. Since 2005, he was three times elected the village head, acting as an exemplary manager in implementing various programs and solving problems of village residents.

Being an independent person committed to the people’s interests, Hrach Muradian was popular with the village residents, which caused discontent of some people. An attempt was always made to create tension around him. He received numerous threats, which finally resulted in his death.

We should note with deep regret that the security of citizens is not guaranteed in our country and criminal behavior has become an integral part of our life.
The bullet that took Harch Muradian’s life was aimed not only against an honest Armenian and a compassionate head of a village, but also against Armenian statehood.

Condemning the crime, ARFD demands that it be detected rapidly and efficiently and that its perpetrators and organizers be punished”.
