Police: It is essential to rule out combination of work duties and business

The press service of the Armenian police issued a statement about the reasons for the dismissal of Yerevan Police Chief Nerses Nazarian – in response to the recent media reports.

The statement particularly reads:

“As regards the dismissal of Nerses Nazarian, it is a working approach, in line with the logic of police reforms and the personnel policy.

The police consider it essential to rule out the combination of work duties with business, the so-called merger with some strata of society, which is inevitable in case of holding the same position for a long time and has a negative impact on the results of work.

In this case our studies showed that the efficiency of Yerevan garrison’s work has declined and that urgent measures are necessary to amend the situation. The police attaches importance to efficient implementation of their mission, the rest are unfounded and senseless statements”.
