Armenian president signs decree on spring military draft

President Serzh Sargsyan signed today a decree on the 2013 spring military draft and demobilization.

In May and June 2013, male citizens of Armenia, who reached the age of 18 by 30 June (inclusive) and who have not exercised or lost their right to deferment of military service, will be drafted to do compulsory or alternative military service. The servicemen who completed their military service will be demobilized in May and June 2013.

The Armenian government was instructed to take – within two weeks - a decision to ensure the execution of the decree.
