Victor Soghomonian: Number of political clowns is on increase

Victor Soghomonian, the head of the office of second Armenian President Robert Kocharian, commented on media reports that an anti-corruption NGO based in Russia has filed a lawsuit against Robert Kocharian to Russia’s Office of Prosecutor General.

“I heard about this “shocking” information only yesterday. To be frank, I don’t know if it is appropriate to react to such information because one does not often hear such a silly thing. And when you start to analyze this subject, you can’t help laughing. Imagine that an Armenia citizen writes a letter to the prosecutor’s office, requesting that a criminal case be opened against a former president of another state, say, George Bush. And when a confirmation of the receipt is sent to him by post, he declares that Armenian prosecutors are investigating the case against Bush. I am not a psychiatrist and cannot say what is happening in this citizen’s mind. Alas, the same is true of those few journalists and political figures who seriously analyze this news and draw shocking conclusions.

This continuous futile campaign of searching for “discrediting evidence” against Robert Kocharian makes some people use primitive tricks and invent such silly things. Unfortunately, the number of political clowns is on the increase among us,” V. Soghomonian said.
