BHK leader's words taken out of context

Iveta Tonoyan - spokeswoman for Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) leader Gagik Tsarukian - has issued a statement in connection with the comments made following yesterday’s statements of BHK leader.

We would remind you that during the consecration of Saint John the Baptist Church in the city of Abovian yesterday, in response to the question about whether BHK may become opposition, Gagik Tsarukian said: “No. BHL cannot be opposition. Our party is in favor of what benefits the people and the country. I always said that I am engaged in politics not for my own wellbeing, but for the development and strengthening of the country”.

“The formulation voiced yesterday by BHK leader Gagik Tsarukian regarding the political status of BHK has led to various comments, also giving cause for some purposeful, distorted conclusions.

It is also obvious that scenarios desirable for some were constructed from G. Tsarukian’s words taken out of context. To prevent a misunderstanding and strange comments, I officially state that BHK leader will soon answer all the questions personally. So I advise some people against drawing hasty conclusions”.
