Women to be admitted to military institutes of Armenia

Armenia’s Defense Ministry has announced that for the first time, women will be admitted to military educational institutions of Armenia.

Women who have reached the age of 18 and have no health problems can apply. Applicants must also present certificates that they passed unified state examinations in mathematics and physics, according to the press service of the RA Defense Ministry.
Two institutions – Vazgen Sargsyan Military Institute and Marshal Khanferiants Aviation Institute have announced admission.

Defense Ministry spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisian wrote on Facebook that the abovementioned decision is part of the current educational reforms in Armenia.

“The reforms will increase fighting efficiency of the armed forces and strengthen trust of the public,” he noted.
