Yerevan resident arrested for fraud and forgery

The National Security Service of Armenia arrested on June 20 Yerevan resident Hayk Vardanian, a person of no definite occupation, the press service of NSS reported.

Hayk Vardanian demanded and received a bribe of $3,000 from a citizen, promising to help him get a job at the checkpoint of NSS frontier troops at Zvartnots Airport.

A criminal case was opened under Article 178 part 2 (fraud) of the RA Criminal Code.

Besides, investigators established that Hayk Vardanian was actively involved in the forgery of passports and visas and the sale of such documents. An investigation is underway.
