Public Council: Severe reprimand to HCC chairman was unfounded

Chairman of the Highest Certification Commission (HCC) Artush Ghukasian sent a letter to Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan. In the letter, Ghukasian expressed his disagreement with the severe reprimand given to him by Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotian on May 24, 2013.

Ghuaksian also filed a similar complaint to Chairman of the RA Public Council Vazgen Manukian, as well as the respective explanations to Armen Ashotian.

According to the press service of the RA Public Council, members of the council discussed the conferment of academic degrees in Armenia in recent years as well as the minister’s order and decided that the severe reprimand was unfounded. It was decided to draw up a report on the Public Council’s position on the issue.
