Today is Remembrance Day of the Dead

Yesterday, on July 7 the Armenian Apostolic Church marked the Feast of the Transfiguration of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Today is the Remembrance Day of the Dead. Repose of the soul services are offered in all the churches and people visit graves of their relatives. It is a non-working day.

Remembrance Days are marked on the days following the Five Cardinal Feasts of the Armenian Apostolic Church. They are Christmas, Easter, Transfiguration (Vartavar), Assumption of Saint Mary, and Exaltation of the Holy Cross (Khachverats).
