CEC: By-election in precinct 38 in Syunik scheduled for September 29
The Central Election Commission of Armenia took a decision to set the date of the parliamentary by-election under the majority system in electoral precinct No. 38 in Syunik province for September 29. The CEC Chairman Tigran Mukuchian made that announcement at the sitting of the commission, the press service of the CEC reports.
The CEC made the decision based on the report written by the parliamentary speaker on July 11, according to which deputy Vahe Hakobian’s powers were terminated in connection with his appointment as governor of Syunik province of Armenia. The CEC also received Vahe Hakobian’s letter to Tigran Mukuchian.
Candidates for parliamentary deputy can submit documents for registration at electoral precinct No. 38 on August 5-15, registration will take place on August 15-25, the election campaign will be held on September 1-27. The deadline for withdrawal applications is September 19, 6:00 pm.
