Prime minister pays tribute to memory of fallen azatamartiks
Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan who is on a working visit to the Nagorno Karabakh Republic has participated in events to mark the 22nd anniversary of the NKR’s independence. This morning Tigran Sargsyan and President of the NKR Bako Sahakian, accompanied by high-ranking officials of Nagorno Karabakh and the members of the Armenian government delegation, walked from Revival Square of Stepanakert to the city memorial complex where they laid flowers and wreaths at the monument to soldiers killed during World War II and the Shushi liberation.
Then T. Sargsyan and B. Sahakian went to the cemetery of azatmartiks (freedom fighters) who died in the Artsakh war. They laid flowers on azatamartiks’ graves, paying tribute to their memory. The Armenian prime minister and the NKR president also laid flowers on the grave of Arthur Mkrtchian, the first Chairman of the NKR Supreme Council, the government press service reported.
