Armenian president receives Catholicoses Karekin II and Aram I

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received today His Holiness Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II and His Holiness Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia Aram I, the presidential press service reported.

Catholicos Karekin II and Catholicos Aram I spoke about the Synod of Bishops which finishes it work today, the decisions taken by the Synod and the urgent issues discussed, noting that in addition to theological and ritual issues, the participants also discussed the most important problems and challenges facing Armenia and the Armenians around the world.

The spiritual leaders underlined the importance of the Armenian president’s participation in the opening of the Synod of Bishops and his speech, in which he discussed the national problems and the state’ s position on them.
