Armenian church in Yekaterinburg to be consecrated
On October 12 Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II will pay a one-day visit to the Russian and Nor Nakhijevan Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in order to preside over the consecration ceremony of the newly-built Surb Karapet Church in the city of Yekaterinburg, the information service of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin reported. During the visit, His Holiness will also meet with representatives of city and regional authorities.
The construction of Surb Karapet Church was funded by Masis Nazarian, chairman of the Armenian community of Yekaterinburg. Hakob Gasparian is the architect of 37-meter-high Surb Karapet Church, Artyom Melkonian is the painter of the church frescos.
