Bortnikov: CIS countries cooperate on fight against terrorism
At the sitting in Tsakhkadzor today, the Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Secret Services of CIS member states did work aimed at the further strengthening of cooperation of these structures within the framework of the CIS, Director of Russia’s FSB (Federal Security Service) Alexander Bortnikov told a press conference following the sitting.
According to him, the participants also discussed the agenda of the Council’s next sitting to be held in Belarus in 2014.
We would remind you that the 35th sitting of the Council was held today in Tsakhkadzor. Representatives of secret services of all CIS member states, except Azerbaijan, took part in the sitting. They discussed issues related to the fight against international terrorism, organized crime, smuggling, and drug trafficking.
Director of Armenia’s National Security Service Gorik Hakobian said Armenia actively cooperates with all countries that participated in the sitting. “We help others, first of all based on the interests of our state,” he said.
