Officer killed, several injured in mine explosion

Captain of the Armenian Armed Forces Gevorg Mnatsakanian, 25, died while performing a military task in the northeastern direction of the border.

According to the press service of Armenian Defense Ministry, on the evening of October 16 the commander of a field engineer company Captain Gevorg Mnatsakanian was fatally wounded when a mine exploded.

Senior Lieutenant Garush Hambartsumian, conscript Narek Hakobian, and contract serviceman Edgar Harutyunian received injuries and were hospitalized.
