PM: Armenian economy should develop within Customs Union framework

Armenia’s entry into the Customs Union will allow our country to build relations with its strategic partner and main investor – Russia on a more solid platform, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan stated during the international media forum ‘At the Foot of Mount Ararat’ today.

“Intensive processes have been taking place with the framework of the Customs Union in recent years, and if we fail to integrate, this will create new boundaries among business entities of Russia and Armenia, which is an unaffordable luxury for us. So a political decision was made, according to which our economy should develop within the Customs Union’s framework,” the prime minister said.

He noted that the decision should also be considered from geopolitical and cultural points of view, as well as in the context of national security.
