Bordyuzha: Armenian president voiced ‘friendly criticism’

The Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Nikolai Bordyuzha said during a video conference today that the Armenian president voiced ‘friendly criticism’ at the session of CSTO Collective Security Council in Sochi.

“I assure you that it was not scathing criticism. Of course, Serzh Sargsyan raised the adoption of unfriendly documents by some CSTO members, but it was friendly criticism. Such issues are discussed with the CSTO framework. Presidents of all member states of the CSTO raise such issues,” Bordyuzha said during Yerevan-Moscow-Astana-Kiev video bridge.

Let us remind you that Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan particularly said: “Contrary to the spirit of the decisions we have taken, some member states of the CSTO make – in other arenas and other organizations – such statements on the same issue that are discordant with CSTO decisions. In recent years some documents, which highlight selectively the principle of territorial integrity with prejudice to the other principles, were adopted, also at the presidential level, at the Azerbaijani side’s instigation”.

When asked whether the document to be signed to Vilnius will affect relations between Armenia and the CSTO, Nikolai Bordyuzha said the answer was given in the September statement on Armenia’s entry into the Customs Union.
