President receives Marseille Mayor Jean-Claude Gaudin

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received today the delegation led by Mayor of Marseille Jean-Claude Gaudin who is on an official visit to Armenia.

The president welcomed the delegation members, attaching importance to mutual visits at various levels in the promotion of bilateral ties. In this connection the interlocutors recalled with warmth the 2011 visit of President Sargsyan and expressed satisfaction that Armenian-French cooperation based on centuries-old friendly links is continuously developing in the political, economic and cultural spheres. Serzh Sargsyan stated that the French delegation’s visit to Armenia will give renewed impetus to the further strengthening of Armenian-French relations.

Jean-Claude Gaudin informed the Armenian president about the results of his meetings in Yerevan, including the signing of several agreements in a number of spheres, which he said will help deepen cooperation in those spheres.

The mayor noted that the delegation was composed of representatives of the business community as well, which will contribute to the establishment of new business ties and encourage French investments in Armenia.

At the meeting Jean-Claude Gaudin welcomed the opening of Armenia’s consulate-general in Marseille.
