Armenian president receives Indian parliament delegation

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received today a goodwill parliamentary delegation from India. The delegation was led by Parliamentary Affairs Minister of State Paban Singh Ghatowar, according to the presidential press service.

The president underlined the role of parliamentary diplomacy in the strengthening of interstate relations, expressing hope that the delegation members will hold effective discussions with Armenian partners.

The sides indicated the high level of the political dialog between Armenia and India, noting that both countries closely cooperate in international organizations and take similar approaches concerning many issues, which is a good basis for the promotion of bilateral ties in trade, economic and humanitarian spheres.

Serzh Sargsyan expressed his gratitude to the people and government of India for their assistance to the Armenian community and the Armenian Church.

The meeting participants discussed the opportunities of deepening cooperation in IT sector, science, education, culture, and healthcare.

Paban Singh Ghatawar stressed that India attaches importance to the development of relations with Armenia in all the spheres.
