E. Sharmazanov: Azerbaijan frustrates negotiations

Just a few days prior to the meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents, Azerbaijani troops opened fire on border settlements in Armenia, violating the ceasefire and rejecting the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs’ calls and efforts on a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict,” the Armenian parliamentary vice speaker Edward Sharmazanov said.

On November 16 the Azerbaijani armed forces opened gunfire on civilian cars on a road near Vazashen village in Tavush province. No victims were reported. The Armenian armed forces adhered to Defense Minister Seyran Ohanian’s order and refrained from retaliatory actions.

“These actions show once again that Azerbaijan frustrates the negotiating process on the Karabakh settlement. Azerbaijan’s behavior shattering regional peace and stability should be strongly condemned by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs and the international community,” Edward Sharmazanov said.
