State to pay compensation to students from border areas
The Armenian government approved today the order of providing state scholarships and student allowances at state educational institutions implementing vocational and/or secondary special educational programs. Student allowances will be provided as a full compensation for tuition fees of these institutions’ students from border or mountainous areas.
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan attached importance to the decision as an efficient component of poverty reduction. He instructed the Ministry of Education and Science to inform, through the mass media, students from border and mountainous areas about the decision.
The list of specialties and entrance examinations in the 2014-2015 programs of higher educational institutions of Armenia was also approved at the government session.
