President holds consultation in Nature Protection Ministry

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan visited today Ministry of Nature Protection and familiarized himself with the implementation of work by the ministry’s units, the press service of the ministry reported.

During a consultation with the participation of the ministry’s top officials, Nature Protection Minister Aram Harutyunian informed the president about the work done in the main directions. First Deputy Minister Simon Papian spoke about the development prospects of Armenia’s environmental protection in the context of transition to a green economy.

Deputy Minister Khachik Hakobian made a report about the peculiarities of the ministry’s work with the public and the mass media and presented statistical data.

The state strategy of development of specially protected natural areas and the 2014-2020 action plan were also presented to the Armenian president during the consultation.
