Work underway in Moscow to reconcile terms of entry into CU

The Armenian delegation in Moscow will discuss with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) the roadmap for Armenia’s entry into the Customs Union (CU), ‘Izvestiya’ paper wrote.

The Armenian delegation is composed of nine deputy ministers. On behalf of the Russian side, Minister of Integration and Macroeconomics at EEC Tatyana Valovaya will participate in the meeting.

“Armenia’s European integration will only complement the process of joining the Customs Union, which is based on international principles and uses international experience,” First Deputy Minister of Economy, the Armenian government’s representative at the EEC Ms. Karine Minasian told the Russian newspaper.

Speaking about the absence of a common border between Armenia and Russia, which complicates trade contacts, she said that respective mechanisms will be worked out.

According to ‘Izvestiya’, a meeting of EEC Council at a level of deputy prime ministers will be held on December 13, while the roadmap itself will be signed at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council due on December 24.
