T. Sargsyan presents medals and gifts to mass media representatives

At the festive reception today Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan congratulated representatives of the mass media on the New Year and Christmas, wished them successful activities and presented commemorative medals, valuable gifts and letters of thanks to them, according to the press office of the Armenian government.

“The mass media plays an important role in the Republic of Armenia, given the fact that you have performed a complex and responsible function of strengthening democracy in the last five years. It is hard to imagine the establishment of civil society in Armenia without your active involvement. Success in this field will depend on your work’s efficiency,” the prime minister stated.

He reminded those present that the media is the fourth estate, which also bears responsibility for developments, public mood, new ideas, and should be able to lead the way. “From this point of view, I should note the achievements made in the information field, especially when we see profound analytical materials that are extremely important for building civil society. I wish you success in this area,” Tigran Sargsyan said.
