Edward Nalbandian receives Philippe Lefort

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Philippe Lefort who is completing his mission, according to the press service of Armenian Foreign Ministry.

Edward Nalbandian thanked Philippe Lefort for his two-year work aimed at promoting the relations between Armenia and the European Union and wished him success in his further activities.

The interlocutors discussed Armenia-EU relations, regional problems, and efforts on resolution of the existing conflicts.

Edward Nalbandian drew P. Lefort’s attention to the bellicose statements and provocative actions of Azerbaijan. He stressed that despite the repeated calls by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs for strengthening the ceasefire regime, it is not only servicemen who become victims of ceasefire violations by the Azerbaijani side on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the Line of Contact in the Karabakh conflict zone. The minister said that such provocations hinder efforts of Armenia and the Co-chair towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
