Memorial service for soldier Armen Hovhannisian held in Stepanakert

President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakian, accompanied by top leaders of the republic, attended the memorial service for Junior Sergeant of the NKR Defense Army Armen Hovhannisian who heroically died repelling an attack of Azerbaijani subversive groups. The memorial service was held in Saint Hakobos Church of Stepanakert, according to the press service of the Office of NKR President.

On behalf of the authorities and people of Artsakh, Bako Sahakian expressed condolences to the family of Armen Hovhannisian on the irreplaceable loss of the young soldier. In the words of the NKR president, Armen Hovhannisian and his fellow soldiers are a striking example of unlimited devotion to the Homeland and proficiency in military art and they showed once again that the armed forces of the NKR can give a fitting rebuff to any manifestation of aggression by the enemy.

Bako Sahakian called Azerbaijan’s conduct very destructive and terroristic. He stressed that it deals a blow to the maintenance of regional peace and stability and to the international community’s efforts on the settlement of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict.
