Material evidence from Azeri sabotage place can be presented to MG

First Deputy Defense Minister of Armenia David Tonoyan today answered questions of the Armenpress news agency and ‘Hay Zinvor’ newspaper.

In particular, when responding to the question that the Azerbaijani side continues to deny the fact of the sabotage and laughs off the statements of Armenian officials and the mass media reaction, D. Tonoyan said: “A different position of the Azerbaijani side would be strange, given the outcome of their special actions. If the actions were taken with the aim of making a provocation and worsening the situation in the conflict zone a few days prior to the meeting of the foreign ministers, then this attempt can be considered quite successful, regardless of its results”.

“In any event, in connection with the fact of simultaneous attempts by Azerbaijani subversive groups to infiltrate in northeastern (Jraberd) and southeastern (Korgan) directions of the Line of Contact between the Azerbaijani and Karabakhi armed forces from 11:50 pm January 19 to 12:15 am January 20, the Armenian Defense Ministry’s Investigation Service already opened a criminal case under Article 104 part 13 points 6 and 7 of the Criminal Code – murder committed in a way dangerous to lives of many people for ethnic, racist or religious reasons by a group of people or an organized group. The weapons and samples of clothes found at the scene of the incident were wrapped and sealed and duly sent for several tests,” David Tonoyan said.

“During the investigation into the case, the personnel were questioned on the position. The fact of infiltration of the enemy’s subversive group in the indicated direction of the Line of Contact was also substantiated based on evidence of the personnel. We are prepared to present samples of weapons and clothes found at the scene of the incident to the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs and Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk,” D. Tonoyan stated.
