Ashot Ghulian: Karabakh should participate in talks
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Ashot Ghulian received on February 17 members of the Armenian-British parliamentary friendship group led by John Whittingdale. The meeting took place at the NKR’s permanent mission in Armenia.
Ashot Ghulian highly appreciated the British parliamentarians’ interest in the NKR and presented the position of the NKR authorities on the Karabakh conflict, according to the press service of the NKR’s permanent mission.
The parliamentary speaker said that the recent incidents on the Line of Contact between the armed forces of the NKR and Azerbaijan and Baku’s constant bellicose statements bear evidence of that country’s position aimed at hindering a peaceful resolution to the Karabakh conflict.
Ashot Ghulian stressed that efficient resolution of the Karabakh conflict is impossible without direct participation of the NKR.
The sides reached an agreement to continue discussions in both Stepanakert and London.
