Customs officials foil attempt to smuggle 3 kg of cocaine into Armenia

Armenian customs officials have foiled an attempt to smuggle 3 kilograms of cocaine into Armenia. The State Revenue Committee of Armenia said that employees of the anti-smuggling unit of Yerevan’s Zvartnots Airport seized a large consignment of cocaine worth $1.5 million during examination of Italian citizen Di Simone Valeriano ‘s baggage on February 23.

The Italian arrived in Armenia from Dominican Republic. He is in Armenia for the first time. A Spanish company had booked a hotel room for him in Yerevan. A criminal case was opened.
