GMs Hakobian, Malkumian and Sargsyan among leaders

The 15th European Individual Chess Championship in Yerevan is coming to a close.

After round 9, GM Alexander Motylev of Russia remains the sole leader with 7.5 points. Turkish chess player Solak Dragan and Ilia Smirin of Israel earned 7 points each and are in 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. Armenian GMs Hrant Melkumian, Vladimir Hakobian and Gabriel Sargsyan earned 6.5 points each and share 4th-16th positions with several other players.
