Arman Ghukasian posthumously awarded For Service in Battle medal

President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakian signed today a decree on awarding posthumously ‘For Service in Battle’ Medal to the NKR Defense Army’s Private Arman Ghukasian for courage in the protection of the state borders, the press service of the NKR president said.

Serviceman Arman Ghukasian, 20, died of a gunshot wound on March 19, during the performance of a military task on a frontline position of a military unit located in the northern direction of the Line of Contact between the armed forces of the NKR and Azerbaijan.

An officer of the same military unit, Varazdat Zakarian, received a gunshot wound.
