Bako Sahakian: We can repel attack and launch counterattack

The Defense Army of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic efficiently and honorably performs its tasks, President of the NKR Bako Sahakian said in an interview with Armenpress news agency.

“Graphic evidence of what I said is the continuous peace and stability in our region, with the Defense Army being one of the main guarantors. Our armed forces are able to protect the independence of Artskah and the security of its people from any encroachments,” Bako Sahakian stated.

He stressed that a blitzkrieg scenario by Azerbaijan is impossible for several reasons.

“We have a powerful defense system capable of repelling such an attack and launching a counterattack. Secondly, if the enemy attacks Artsakh again, the new war will be a patriotic one with the participation of the whole Nagorno Karabakh and all the Armenians so a blitzkrieg is simply impossible in this case,” the NKR president said.
