Harutyun Safarian posthumously awarded Medal for Service in Battle

President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakian signed today a decree, awarding posthumously the Medal for Service in Battle to a military unit commander, Senior Lieutenant Harutyun Safarian for courage in defending the state borders of the NKR, the press service of the NKR president reported.

Senior Lieutenant Harutyun Safarian, 27, died in the performance of his military task on March 31 after a mine exploded on a frontline position in the southern direction of the Line of Contact between the armed forces of the NKR and Azerbaijan.
