Government intends to compensate for frost damage
Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamian, accompanied by Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetian, visited on May 4 Verin Artashat and Norashen communities in Ararat province of the country.
“We will support village residents with clear programs and actions. Of course, this will require considerable funds. Government members will familiarize themselves with problems on the spot. We will do everything to solve the problems,” the prime minister said.
According to him, the government is going to compensate for the damage caused by frosts: it will compensate farmers for land tax fully and for 50% of water tax and extend loan payment deadlines.
The prime minister also announced that he will instruct government members to discuss with processing enterprises the issue of purchasing grapes at a higher price.
