Francois Hollande: There is one solution – Armenian Genocide recognition

There is only one solution. It is the recognition of the Armenian Genocide,French President Francois Hollande stated at the joint press conference with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, when speaking about Armenian-Turkish relations.

Reminding the French president about Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan’s statement on the eve of the 99th anniversary of the Genocide, an Armenian reporter asked F. Hollande to express his opinion about whether Turkey should display political will and ratify the signed protocols if that country really wants to normalize its relations with Armenia.

Francois Hollande replied that he always tries to find positive elements in such statements.

“But I think the main point is to qualify the massacres as genocide. There is one solution – the recognition of the Genocide,” the French president said.
