Norwegian ambassador presents credentials to Serzh Sargsyan

Ambassador of Norway to Armenia Leidulv Atle Namtvedt (diplomatic residence in Moscow) today presented his credentials to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, the presidential press service said.

The sides underlined the importance of continuing efficient cooperation in international organizations and intensifying bilateral relations at the parliamentary level. The interlocutors shared the opinion that the contractual and legal framework should be expanded, which will create a new opportunity to establish durable cooperation in various spheres.

The Armenian president highly appreciated Norway’s assistance and development programs, indicating successful cooperation in energy sector and cadaster.

The sides also addressed relations in humanitarian sphere. In this connection the Armenian president and the Norwegian ambassador remembered with great respect Artic explorer Fridtjof Nansen and missionary Bodil Katharine Biorn who provided significant assistance to the Armenian people in the early 20th century.
