Parents of conscripts visit border military units

On the initiative of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, for the second consecutive year parents of Yerevan-based conscripts have the opportunity to visit their sons. This year, parents of about 1000 conscripts will travel to military units located in Armenia’s Tavush and Syunik provinces and southeastern border areas, according to the press department of Yerevan Municipality.

The Yerevan mayor wished a good journey to the parents before the departure of the buses. Taron Margaryan got on the buses and familiarized himself with the conditions. He assured the parents that Yerevan Municipality is ready to help Yerevan-based servicemen to honorably discharge their military duty.

The parents thanked the mayor for his initiative of social importance. The executives informed the mayor that all necessary measures for the trip’s organization were taken. In particular, the parents will travel by comfortable buses accompanied by police cars and there will be a doctor on each bus.

Taking into accounts the words of gratitude expressed by parents during previous visits and the positive response to the initiative, the mayor said they will organize such visits frequently and try to involve many people.

Taron Margaryan also thanked Armenian Defense Ministry for assisting the program. The buses heading to southeastern regions of Armenia left late evening May 16, and buses to Tavush and Syunik left this morning.
